Two classes of representations  

 

Attribute-value representations   Each example described by a fixed number of numeric or categorial attributes (one attribute contains class value) example set can be thought of as one database relation (table) with simple field values

 
 

First-order representations (-> "Inductive Logic Programming") Each example described by a set of logical facts (with or w/o functions) Example set can be thought of as a set of interrelated relations (tables) with simple or complex structured objects as field values
